ETC655: Session Ended

Dear ETC655 Students,   Happy Holidays! The Fall 2022 2nd session has ended. I would like to offer my congratulations and felicitations for your achievement of completing your ETC degree. May you live well and benefit from your education.   It has been an incredible experience in working with you.  I hope you have completed all course activities.  With strikingly different course design, it was a challenging session for all of us. I hope ETC655 has engaged you in an effective and comprehensive learning process that has advanced all your three learning domains, cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (values), for online learning teaching and design. Instructor-student and student-student relationships lie at the heart of humanizing, serving as the connective tissue between students, engagement, and rigor. And I think we accomplished it.   I hope you are conversant with the topics of Connectivism and ONLE. After the clas...

Maker’s Space: Sechrist Elementary School Opportunity Request

Image
This morning I received a call from a Katniss McFarland a counselor from Sechrist Elementary School. They are creating a "Maker's Space" at the school, so far, they were looking into 3D printers and things like that. And were wondering if anyone would be interested in (an intern or professor) helping them create a curriculum for the Maker's Space. She stated that there is funding and money in the budget to compensate for the help. Her email is kmcfarland@fusd1.org and her phone number is: 928-814-9638   So if you have anyone who would be willing to or interested in this opportunity please reach out to her!   Thanks! ETC655: Lesson Discussion Updates

Dear ETC655 students,   I hope your first a few days of the class were fruitful. It was wonderful to speak to a few of our classmates via phone and Zoom. I presented an update of the ETC655 schedule to the ETC Curriculum Design Committee on Friday as a new " open pedagogy " design. And it is approved. Here are the updates for our course:   Lesson Discussions You can select at least one key question at your own volition to respond initially (M-Th).  Total SIX postings minimum for each lesson remain the same. We encourage you to respond to both key questions to optimize your own learning.   Lesson 5 (Assignment 3: Network Training Session week) & 6 (Thanksgiving week) Discussions The two-posting periods will be lifted due to the special events in both weeks. Other requirements remain the same. It is still highly encouraged to follow the two-posting periods since based on the research, it facilitates higher level of learner-learne...
