ETC655: Lesson Discussion Updates
Dear ETC655 students,
I hope your first a few days of the class were fruitful. It was wonderful to speak to a few of our classmates via phone and Zoom. I presented an update of the ETC655 schedule to the ETC Curriculum Design Committee on Friday as a new "open pedagogy" design. And it is approved. Here are the updates for our course:
Lesson Discussions
- You can select at least one key question at your own volition to respond initially (M-Th).
- Total SIX postings minimum for each lesson remain the same.
- We encourage you to respond to both key questions to optimize your own learning.
Lesson 5 (Assignment 3: Network Training Session week) & 6 (Thanksgiving week) Discussions
- The two-posting periods will be lifted due to the special events in both weeks.
- Other requirements remain the same.
- It is still highly encouraged to follow the two-posting periods since based on the research, it facilitates higher level of learner-learner interaction and higher cognitive learning.
The ETC Curriculum Design Committee advised us to conduct a research on such a new design of allowing students to select one of key questions to respond. We will reflect on these practices at the end of class. I will gather the data and report it back to the committee.
Let me know if you have any questions. I am looking forward to working with every individual of you.
Best Regards,
Chih
