ETC655: Network Training Today & Tomorrow
Lesson 4: Instructor's Notes #1: Next Week: Assignment 3 Network Training Sessions
Update: Group 5's session is moved from today to tomorrow, 7:30-8:00 pm.
The Network Training schedules and topics for ETC655's assignment have been concluded and are scheduled to be presented next week. Refer to the assigned dates and times for each group's respective training topic. The following are important reminders:
Where: ETC655 Zoom.
- Be sure to use your NAU login to log on ETC655 Zoom to deliver your sessions.
- All sessions are delivered "Live" and will be recorded.
- You can use the same ETC655 Room to rehearse your sessions. See Login information below.
Who may attend: ETC students, ETC alumni, educators, and faculties in COE. Some may access the recordings.
Sign up the sessions: that you plan to attend to inform the presenters. The presenters may have training materials or information for the participants.
Required: Attend at least ONE live session delivered by another group.
- Participating in more than one session is highly encouraged. The past record: 3-4 sessions.
Recording: Start recording before the session starts.
Promptness in commencing the session is strongly encouraged. Please ensure that you are fully prepared to address any potential technical issues that may arise. Unless it is absolutely necessary, I will refrain from interrupting your session.
The training session is designed to be INTERACTIVE, in contrast to a traditional "show and tell" or lecture-based approach. The application of effective Connectivist/ONLE and/or Constructivist instructional strategies is strongly recommended in order to ENGAGE the audience, thereby fostering the creation or execution of a specific task, rather than solely presenting content. Please note that mere presentation or lecturing, without adequate engagement, would not fulfill the requirements of the training session.
Audiences: you may have off-line audiences who watch the recorded session.
Rehearse: Highly recommended.
Incorporating video clips is a pertinent aspect of session integration. With that in mind, an important question to consider is whether watching videos can be deemed an interactive activity.
Please ensure that the presentation takes place in a quiet environment, free from distractions such as background noise, ringing phones, barking dogs, and conversations.
Additionally, it is crucial to facilitate the chat room effectively, as the audience may utilize it to engage in the conversation. Should the one-person group require assistance in monitoring the chat room, I would be happy to provide my aid.
Survey: Provide the link in the chat room.
Q: Can I invite my colleagues to participate in the sessions?
A: Certainly, the session is accessible to all individuals who possess an inclination towards the subject matter.
Instructor: I will participate in all live training sessions with others.
